Principal's Report

COVID and Flu Safety Measures

With a number of students and staff being absent and/or sent home, we again have again redistributed masks to all classrooms across our school. We encourage masks to be worn in all indoor settings, as the health and safety of all students, staff and parents/carers are our priority.

Although masks have not been mandated to be worn, we strongly encourage staff and students aged 8 and above to wear a mask to help support the stop of COVID19 and influenza, until the end of the winter season.

To ensure that we do absolutely everything possible to support our health and safety, please speak with your child/ren about the importance of these COVIDsafe/influenza safe steps, by:

· staying home if you are not well
· wearing masks in indoor settings
· washing and sanitizing hands regularly.
· avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
· covering noses and mouths when we cough or sneeze, or sneeze into your elbow
· use disinfectant wipes in classrooms to wipe down areas regularly.
· keeping a sensible physical distance, where possibly practical
· wear appropriate warm uniform for the temperature on the day (jumper, pants etc).

Air purifiers remain on at all times in classrooms, hallways and office spaces, as well as all classrooms having ample supply of hand sanitiser and wet wipes. We appreciate your support and understanding with this matter.

Professional Practice Day - Friday 19 August – Student Free Day

Term 3 - First Assembly
On Monday I had the opportunity to formally address our Foundation – Year 2 students at our first assembly for Term 3. I was so grateful to have the opportunity to meet them all and to commend them on the smooth start to Term 3. All our students have displayed our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Doing Your Best in the classroom and in the yard. Upon visiting our students in classrooms over the last few weeks, I have been so impressed with our student’s readiness to learn, manners and effort. Well done on a great start and thank you to our community for their support.

Walk-A-Thon
This term our Walk-A-Thon is on Wednesday 17 August. Please join us to support our students (and staff) as they challenge themselves and raise money for sporting facilities & equipment to keep them active year-round. Students will complete as many laps as they can of the Walkathon route.

We hope you will consider a donation to support the students of our school, by:
· scanning the QR code below
· visiting www.willynthps.vic.edu.au/walkathon
· passing on money directly to the student

Soon, all details regarding the information on the day will be communicated.
