Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge 2016

  

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open and Williamstown North Primary is excited to be participating.

 

This annual event enables students to discover many new stories and helps to foster a love of reading.  The Full Booklist is available online, and classroom teachers also have a copy. Many of the books available from school and your local library are listed.

The Challenge is now open up until Friday 2nd September. If you have allowed your child to participate in the challenge this year, and have returned your permission note, you should have access to the online system to log all the books via the below instructions.

 

Instructions:

  1. Your child will be issued with a username and password, all passwords are generic by the school and are WNPS1409.
  2. Your Childs username will be given to you by your classroom teacher.
  3. Please note it is the Students/Parents responsibility for entering in the correct amount of books in order to complete challenge correctly, please see below for your child’s specific book requirements:
  4. Mrs Tyson (Co-Ordinator) will verify and check off all books on a weekly basis.

 

To be eligible to receive your certificate at the end of the challenge from the Premier, you will need to ensure you child has read the following:

  • Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their parents and teachers.
  • Children from Year 3 to Year 10 are challenged to read 15 books.

 

All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and can choose to have their name included on the online Honour Roll.
