Sustainability

Williamstown North Primary School has recently begun a journey on our way to becoming a 5-Star Rated Sustainability School. The ResourceSmart Aussi VIC program aims to help schools to engage students, staff and the wider community in a journey towards becoming a more sustainable school, and eventually a leader in the community.

The program is split into a number of modules – Core, Waste, Water, Energy and Biodiversity. As we move through achieving stars, we will continue to improve across all these important areas.

The school has set out a number of initiatives to begin our journey. We have developed a School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) outlining our goals for the future, as well as past achievements.

Year 5 and 6 students have formed a Green Team to help out with Sustainability Initiatives throughout the school.

If you are a parent that feels they could help out in any way (a green thumb, energy or water expert, involved in a local business that could help us, or just someone that is passionate about sustainability!) then please get in touch with Lisa, Dale or Jim and we will see how we can work together to make our school more environmentally friendly.

Thank you to those parents who contacted us about forming a gardening club. We will be in touch soon!
