PARENT HUB

WNPS recognises the need to continually improve educational outcomes for students through greater community connectedness and effective partnerships between students, parents/carers, teachers and the community.

The school’s Community Engagement Policy highlights its commitment to ‘building community and identity’ and identifies the value in ‘establishing a space/hub for parents and carers within the school grounds to be used as a meeting place and to participate in programs’.

Launched in May 2016, the Parent Hub is an informal meeting place for parents/carers to come together in a safe and welcoming space. The Hub has a focus on

• Building positive connections between children, the family and the school;
• A place where children and families are welcome;
• Child and diversity friendly;
• Sense of belonging for all.

The Hub is located in Room 9 (near the Junior Learning Centre) and is open during the Winter months in Term’s 2 & 3 on Friday mornings from 9am – 10.00am.
